Summary:

This role supports the transformation of the Finance organization. Using knowledge of business processes and financial software applications and working collaboratively with others to increase organizational capacity through improved processes and technology solutions.  The successful candidate is someone who truly enjoys improving other peoples’ work experiences by helping them understand the technology at their disposal and how it can reduce their work load. 

What You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Being an advocate for change and helping to drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the Finance organization

  • Meeting with Finance leaders and team members to understand business processes, current and future technology requirements, challenges and pain points

  • Documenting business processes and technology requirements using a variety of tools and approaches (e.g., Visio, user stories, personas)

  • Analyzing improvement opportunities, collecting data to identify root causes, and determining the appropriate process improvement approach (Lean, Design Thinking, etc…)

  • Facilitating sessions and working collaboratively with others to identify opportunities for improvement and create innovative solutions to complex business challenges

  • Working closely with IT to proactively identify and evaluate potential technology solutions (these may include previously unused functionality, system enhancements/upgrades, or new technologies)

  • Identifying the process changes needed to fully recognize the benefit of technology solutions and working with teams to ensure these changes are implemented

  • Helping to developing and present business cases that clearly articulate the benefits and costs of proposed technology solutions or improvement efforts; and helping to prioritize these across the Finance organization

  • Tracking and reporting progress on the implementation of technology solutions and improvement efforts to ensure that outcomes remain aligned with the organizations goals

  • Helping to quantify the value, and communicate the impact, of transformation efforts

  • Maintaining strong relationships with individuals throughout the Finance and CTO organizations

Applicants should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training and experience

  • 7+ years of relevant finance/systems experience

  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of end to end finance processes from a functional perspective

  • Strong technical aptitude, the ability to learn new systems quickly, understand how functionality could be used to improve business process and explain technical concepts to non-technical users

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and initiate process improvement opportunities that align with business goals/objectives, experience leading process improvement projects

  • Ability to discover and document requirements using a variety of methods

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Hyperion HFM, Hyperion Essbase and SAP Business Objects is desired

  • Experience with TIPS, QLM, Right Angle, Aligne, Allegro is desired

  • Experience with Lean Kaizen or Design Thinking is desired

  • Oil & Gas Industry experience is a plus
