What you will be responsible for:

  • Utilizes corrosion test equipment and instrumentation
  • Makes cathodic protection pipe to soil surveys, read rectifiers and record readings. Inspects facilities for atmospheric corrosion, makes cathodic protection pipe to soil surveys, inspections and investigations and analyzes data. Performs close interval surveys, collects and analyzes data
  • Performs remedial actions according to data results. Inspects and maintains CP equipment
  • Maintains records and completes required reports
  • Prepares as-built sketches and redlines existing drawings. Interprets internal corrosion (IC) data from coupons and liquid sample collections


  • High school diploma
  • NACE Certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of cathodic protection
  • Understand equipment manuals and DOT standards/regulatory guidelines
  • Must be physically able to perform all duties required: walking over uneven terrain, bending, moving from ground level to higher levels, raising/lifting from ground level a load up to 50 lbs., manually transporting a load up to 75 lbs., applying up to 100 foot pounds of torque
  • If not able to initially pass Corrosion Tech I tests is able to complete qualification process within a reasonable timeframe - if entering classification as a Corrosion Trainee, must pass Corrosion Tech I tests within 6 months. Then within one (1) year, attain the NACE entry level certification or equivalent. Then within 2 years be able to pass Corrosion Tech II tests and within three (3) years, attain NACE Level 2 certification or equivalent
