Day to day:

Schedules and manages the daily activity of natural gas liquids (NGL’s) at DCP Marysville Underground Storage Terminal (MUST). This position will have extensive interaction with both internal and external contacts including operations staff, storage customers, rail and truck service providers. 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Directly responsible for scheduling the injections/deliveries of third-party natural gas liquids by pipeline, truck, and rail for underground storage.
  • Maintain and setup truck customers to inject/deliver product at their convenience.
  • Receive pipeline nominations, approve based on schedule availability, prepare monthly schedule for the Control Center in order to coordinate deliveries in/out of the system. 
  • Receive monthly rail nominations, approve or allocate rail spots based on rack space, gather rail orders and set up shipping patterns as needed.  Schedule rail cars as they become available and use best judgment to maximize rail throughput.
  • Maintain fluid operations by running traces to ensure that rail cars are not sitting in the serving yard.
  • Work as a liaison between customers and Operations to plan and coordinate in/out deliveries.
  • Develop good working relationships with customers by providing open lines of communication.
  • Capitalize on any opportunities to increase revenue and enhance the customer experience by constant contact with customer and “creative” scheduling.
  • Proactively communicate with operations daily for plant status and any updates or operational issues that would affect scheduling activities.
  • Assist customers, measurement, and accounting in resolving invoicing and other volume-related issues that may arise.
  • Manage customer inventories by researching discrepancies in a timely manner, enter Product Transfer Orders (PTOs), reconcile shrink to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsible for ensuring that documentation is received, booked, and forwarded to accounting when necessary.
  • Provide monthly information to appropriate parties such as: customers, reporting and regulating agencies. 
  • Produces monthly reports comparing budgeted revenues and volumes to actual results.
  • Through customer contact, recognize and communicate commercial opportunities to commercial asset management and/or business development personnel


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Marketing or four years exempt level experience
  • 0 - 4+ years of experience in energy, ideally NGLs
  • On-call 24/7.  Off hours/weekend/holiday work as required. Some travel required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers on a 24/7 basis, including remaining in contact at night, and on weekends as needed
  • Experience dealing with rail and truck companies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (including Excel and Word) is required; Access database proficiency is preferred
  • Experience with a customer transaction system
  • Knowledge of nomination, confirmation, and allocation procedures
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with internal and external customers 
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate a common-sense approach to problem solving, and ability to prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Ability to work in a team environment
