*** For this candidate - location may be flexible; Candidate will be working with the multiple locations and NGL workgroups****
Must be:
  • Very familiar with Siemens TIA portal, S7-300 CPUs, safety IO and Win CC with HMI panels.

  • Very familiar  multiple communication media including – Profinet, Profibus, RS-485, Rs-232, TCP/IP, broadband, and WIFI including remote connections with VPN.

  • Able to understand prosoft modules and red lion devices. Modbus data collection across multiple devices on a LAN.

  • Familiar with liquid pipeline operations, VFDs, and centrifugal pumps.

  • Able to understand controls including software and hardware. Can interpret, design and red line control wiring schematics.

  • Able to understand One Line diagrams.

  • Able to understand how to install and maintain end devices including Pressure Indicating Transmitters, Temperature Indicating Transmitters, Gas monitors, fire eyes, electric and pneumatic actuators, etc. (Preferred)

  • Familiar with NEC code and NFPA 70E. (Preferred)

  • Familiar with Field Operations and/or have field experience (Prefferred)


Duties may include:

  • Performs instrumentation/ electronic/ controls work that involves enhanced skills as follows:
  • High level understanding of pipeline operations with ability to identify enhancement opportunities 
  • Extensive knowledge of company preventive and general maintenance practices so as to develop annual PM schedule 
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills and has ability to 'walk others through' issues 
  • Ability to interpret & update P&IDs, electrical drawings, and diagrams 
  • Possesses programming skills and has ability to use those skills for optimizing & enhancing our existing processes.

Misc. duties:
  • Is used as a resource for other personnel to call on (effectively directs/supports less experienced personnel with troubleshooting and making repairs, even over the phone)
  • Serves as an Subject Matter Expert and may be utilized on audits and investigations
  • Utilized to mentor/train other employees in area/asset
  • May be involved in evaluating new technology and applications to be used to enhance our business
  • Develops and implements a preventive maintenance program for equipment in asset or region and monitors through completion.
  • Serves as key contact person for asset or region for review of both company & industrial standards (e.g. review of modifications and revisions and interpretation of any need for changes in procedures and/or tasks as applicable to our business)
  • Assists with the design and installation of new field/plant automation equipment; consults with electronics vendors in the development of new equipment for field/plant automation systems.
  • Programs logic design of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Proficient with SCADA troubleshooting and ladder logic and programming.
  • Possesses thorough understanding of variable frequency drive (VFD) control design including all aspects of programming, troubleshooting and tuning.
  • Calibrates and maintains telemetry equipment and devices, communication and other related electronic equipment; may perform electronic flow measurement programming, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Interprets schematics to troubleshoot problems and performs database maintenance administration. 

Project Management tasks/duties:

  • Manages projects
  • Assists in or develops cost estimates for projects/improvement opportunities
  • Forecasts & develops schedules for project completion
  • Oversees work of contract personnel to assure DCP Midstream standards and recommended practices are met
  • May be involved with procuring materials to meet design criteria
  • May be involved with procurement of contract labor for project work
  • May be involved with negotiations with vendors and identifying best pricing and services.




Qualifications

  • In order to be selected or considered for an Automation Control Specialist (ACS) the
  • candidate must successfully meet the minimum experience/work performance criteria outlined below.
  • Minimum of 4-5+ years experience in the I or E Classification with 2-5 years experience in the maintenance and/or development of SCADA or DCS applications/projects
  • Has acquired good understanding of pipeline operations
  • Good safety record
  • Has demonstrated performance of accurate, complete and timely record keeping
  • Has demonstrated a high performance record. (rated Exceeds or Far Exceeds at least 2 of the past 3 years) with the following attributes:

  • Works well with others.
  • Ability to perform preventive and general maintenance
  • Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting end devices, alarms, controllers, panel boards, etc.
  • Has performed general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment and parts associated with equipment
  • Provides training and technical support as required
  • Computer literate, particularly in respect to the requirements of new technology
