The Advanced Analytics BSA V will provide companywide strategic, analytical and technical support for business intelligence (BI) activities. The BI analyst acts as an intermediary between the business community and the technical community working with IT project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which BI applications and solutions are developed. The Advanced Analytics BSA V is also heavily involved with the distribution and successful delivery of all BI solutions.

What You Will Be Responsible For: 

  • Partners with stakeholders, process specialists, and users to elicit and document business requirements; translates non-technical requirements into technical business requirements

  • Partners with business departmental teams to define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports

  • Teach, tailor, and assert control during interactions with business partners to influence over events and achieve goals

  • Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.

  • Designs, develops and maintains reports and analytical tools

  • Evaluates alternate solutions and design processes and systems which includes: user impact considerations, cost and benefit analysis and processing specifications

  • Uses current knowledge of business and technology to recommend systems and process improvements

  • Performs ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports and BI solutions

  • Partners with architecture and solution delivery teams to enable BI applications that have long-term value

  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and works with customers to uncover unmet business needs


  • 7+ years’ experience as business analyst delivering advanced analytics solutions preferably in Oil and Gas sector. Experience in Natural gas processing and transportation is a plus

  • Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures

  • Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgement and initiative

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional image with ability to form good partner relationships across functions

  • Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Visio

  • Advanced analytics and data warehouse implementation life cycle

  • Proven track record of working with big data and social data, as well as cloud-based delivery of solutions

  • 5+ years of Advanced analytics implementation experience using Data science/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning

  • 2 to 4 years of programming experience with Python – a plus

  • Business analytics solutions implementation experience in an environment with Snowflake as data lake and Talend as ETL solutions is preferable

  • Must have Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university in related field, or equivalent experience

  • Experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes and data models, and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards

  • Proven track record of working with big data and social data, as well as cloud-based delivery of solutions

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies, DevOps and test-driven development

  • Proficiency with using statistical methods to analyze process and human behavior.

  • Experience in Lean or 6 Sigma-relevant operations excellence functions is preferable.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Oil & Gas business processes and resultant analytical needs, including risk and regulatory factors relating to information flows is preferable
